Bhilwara villagers arrive on tractors to watch Sunny Deol’s film, chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ in Gadar 2 fever!

Amst the nationwide frenzy surrounding the highly-anticipated Gadar 2, the sequel to the blockbuster Sunny Deol starrer, an extraordinary sight unfolded on Sunday in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district. Hundreds of villagers, exuding unmatched enthusiasm, embarked on an unconventional journey to the local movie theatre, arriving in a parade of tractors. The sheer spectacle and sheer euphoria displayed by these cinephiles left their fellow moviegoers in utter amazement.

Prior to reaching the theater, the villagers organized an exuberant tractor rally from Bhilwara’s main marketplace. Their tractors were adorned with posters of Gadar 2, as they joyfully chanted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. Narayan Lal Bhadala, a resident of Agarpura in Bhilwara district, expressed that the movie had already gained immense popularity nationwide and was on its way to becoming a blockbuster, just like its predecessor.

In an ANI interview, he said, “Around 200-300 villagers gathered on 15 tractors to witness this remarkable film. It has created an immense buzz not only in cities but also in rural areas. The response to this film has been extraordinary. I encourage everyone to enjoy this movie with their loved ones. It is a wholesome entertainer that evokes a sense of national pride.”

Since its release on Friday, the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster has been incredibly successful nationwide. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reports that the film earned an astounding Rs 40 crore on its opening day. ‘Gadar’, a romantic-action drama set during the Partition of India, was skillfully directed by Anil Sharma. Sunny Deol masterfully portrayed the protagonist, Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver from Amritsar, who falls in love with Sakina (played by Ameesha), a Muslim girl from a Pakistani political family in Lahore.

Gadar 2 Box Office Collection

Gadar 2, featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, continues to dominate the box office with its roaring success. On the second day (Saturday), the film amassed over ₹43 crore in collections. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh predicts a historic run for Gadar 2, comfortably crossing ₹200 crore in its first week alone. The Anil Sharma-directed film, set during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971, was released in theaters on August 11. Adarsh aptly describes the film’s triumph, stating, “It’s a tsunami. Gadar 2 continues to roar, rock, and rule in every corner of the nation. East, West, North, South—Gadar 2 is destined for greatness.” With a staggering Friday collection of ₹40.10 crore and a Saturday collection of ₹43.08 crore, the film has now reached a total of ₹83.18 crore.
