Jennie set to make Cannes Film Festival debut
In April, it was announced that HBO’s most anticipated show, The Idol, was selected for the Out of Competition category at the 76th Cannes Film Festival 2023. Jennie, of Blackpink fame and set to make her acting debut on the show, had also been invited then but hadn’t yet confirmed her attendance. A month later, we learned that Jennie will indeed be attending the event on May 22, according to an announcement by her label, YG Entertainment. It’s safe to say, 2023 is going to be Jennie’s year!

About The Idol
The long-awaited show, co-created by The Weeknd and Sam Levinson, is set to premiere on HBO on June 4th of this year. “The Idol” follows the story of a talented pop singer named Jocelyn, played by Lily-Rose Depp, who becomes romantically entangled with a mysterious cult leader portrayed by The Weeknd. Additionally, “The Idol” marks Blackpink’s Jennie’s acting debut.

From May 16 to May 27 this year, the annual Festival de Cannes, also known as The Cannes Film Festival 2023, takes place in the French seaside city of Cannes.
