Production of the final season of the Netflix original ‘Stranger Things’ has been put on hold due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. The series co-creators and co-showrunners, Matt and Ross Duffer, also known as the Duffer brothers, have made a statement regarding the delay.

“The Stranger Things” creators, The Duffers, recently gave fans a sneak peek into the show’s writing process via their Twitter account, @strangerwriters. Variety reports that the fifth and final season began production in August 2022, just after the fourth season premiered.

The post by Duffers read, “Writing doesn’t take a back-seat when filming begins. Despite our excitement to start production with the amazing cast and crew, we’re unable to do so due to the ongoing strike.”
